Afterglow Podcast
Welcome to Afterglow, a podcast exploring the inner landscape through art and psychotherapy informed by the concepts of Carl Jung and Internal Family Systems.
I interview artists, psychotherapists, writers and all-round fantastic people on their practices, work, and ways in which they explore inner worlds as a way to connect to Self.
May the afterglow be as bright as the journey is deep.
I have been actively exploring the work of Carl Jung for over a decade and I have just completed a certificate course in the foundations of Jungian psychotherapy in preparation to train to be an analyst.
This podcast is a way for me to connect with people around the world, interviewing artists and analysts alike, wanting to discuss various forms of Active Imagination, self-exploration, and Jungian clinical processes.
Episode 25 — Navigating Grief and Loss with Meghan Riordan Jarvis
In this wonderful conversation, Meghan Riordan Jarvis and I talk various forms of loss, expanding grief beyond bereavement, we look at suppressed grief, prolonged grief, transformative grief, and learn about the continual gift that this work has given her in her work as a psychotherapist and podcaster of Grief is My Side Hustle.
Episode 24 — Introducing The Boring Story: Audiobooks for the Sleepless
I am so pleased to introduce you to The Boring Story, a series of audiobooks for the sleepless. The Boring Story series uses principles of Yoga Nidra to help soothe and Jungian concepts to enhance dream life. When the Lights Went Out is for children who are resisting sleep and follows a man going about a very unusual day. Follow on Instagram @_boring_story for future audiobooks.
Episode 23 — Art for Active Imagination with Artist Nick Shore
For this episode, I interview artist Nick Shore. We discuss the role that art can play in Active Imagination. Jung strongly encouraged using art and sculpture to depict and understand some dream symbols and figures. In this interview we go on a wild ride, learning about Nick’s story, how he built this practice for himself and how to navigate some of the murky waters of dreamlife. This is an exceptional episode and not to be missed and is best watched on YouTube as we will be presenting some of Nick’s work along with others.
Episode 22 — Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (Also PMOS)
Roughly 1 in 10 female-bodied people in the UK has PCOS and the numbers are assumed to be much higher due to the difficulty in diagnosing or understanding this condition. In Part 1, I speak with artist and maker Demi Yuill to understand her experience of severe PCOS, how it affects family planning and ways we can support the body. For Part 2 of this episode, I provide a Yoga Nidra with the humble hope of alleviating some of the feelings of disconnect from the body so common with people with PCOS.
I began this podcast in 2025 with the goal to create a platform of Yoga Nidras that people could use in the comfort of their own home. Despite training as a Yoga Nidra teacher in 2016 and running classes and workshops for many years, my heart has been with Jungian psychotherapy as a more practical and rewarding framework for exploring the inner world.
As the podcast grew into itself, I felt an organic shift towards interviewing artists and psychotherapists. My hope is that I may begin training to be a Jungian psychoanalyst within the next few years, and that I can use this podcast as a way to feed my hunger for this work, meeting incredible people and learning from them.
For those with a yearning to connect to something deeper within, and are unsure or hesitant to do so, this Yoga Nidra is a gentle invitation towards connection with Self and sensing the inner companion. There is no mistaking the wholeness and sense of comfort provided by such encounters.
Episode 21 — Inner Companion
An invitation to get quiet, get really quiet. This Yoga Nidra gives you the space to allow your mind to empty, to rest in the cold of winter solitude. Whether you’re enjoying the change of pace, or feeling frustrated and cooped up, find something in the calm and empty tundra.

Episode 19 — Midlife Check-In: The Divine Blush
Approaching 40 or already beyond that mark, is a time that Jung feels when life truly begins. In this episode I offer you 11 questions from psychoanalyst James Hollis to assess where you are. The questions are tough and in the episode I discuss how to have the right attitude when approaching these questions and what it all has to do with beetroots.
From spontaneous symptoms to chronic illnesses, the body is often trying to communicate with us through psychosomatic responses. This Yoga Nidra is a perfect way for you to ask of your body what it would like you to know, what it needs more or less of, and a way to give it dedicated attention and appreciation.
Episode 18 — Listening to the Body

Episode 9 — Active Imagination for Dreamwork
In so many ways, Active Imagination and Yoga Nidra are one and the same. In this episode I’ll explain how Jung used Active Imagination and we’ll be focusing in particular on dreamwork — or more specifically, how to use Active Imagination for dream interpretation and interrupted dreams.
The breath that we welcome into our bodies gets absorbed into our blood, into our organs. This week is all about quitting smoking or vaping, giving you support through Yoga Nidra to help you move into a space where you can comfortably exist without nicotine. You don’t have to commit to anything, just start with Part One and Part Two and see how you feel.
Episode 8 — Quitting Smoking
There is no underestimating the importance of having an anchor when you are in the throws of a panic attack or experiencing persistent anxiety. Having an internal place that is unaffected by the changes of life, unaffected by complexes, or triggers, gives you a third place to return to whenever the there is a need to soften the noise of anxiety.
Episode 7 — Anxiety Anchor
Through the uncertainty and fatigue of chemotherapy, I offer this Yoga Nidra as an internal space that you can keep returning to, a place where your body and mind are in full health. May this Yoga Nidra support your mind through the darkest of moments, connecting you to a deeper part of yourself.

Art, whether a painting or a song, made not for the audience but for the artist, gives us the opportunity to transform internal tension into something profound and personal.
