Sarah’s Studio
Sarah, a kindred spirit in making art and collecting treasures, was the first to receive one of the Tyninghame Faces, part of a series that I will write about soon. She really liked the idea of using the shelf as a framing device.
Sarah has plans to repaint the shelf and the wall behind, so the colouring of the face was chosen with her future palette in mind. The colour of the face, Little Green’s Muscovado has a rich terracotta feel, and for reasons that will become clear when I write about the Tyninghame Faces, the application for the face was applied with a rougher texture, something that feels and looks like stone.
In addition to repainting the wall and shelf, Sarah will be bolting the shelf to the wall, meaning the face will eventually sit slightly lower in the frame of the shelf. Hopefully we can get a photo when it is all done and I’ll add it to the end of this post.
